Work in Progress
The following pages contain projects that we are currently working on. None of them have instructions associated with them and few of them are completely coded. They are included here for viewers to get a look at what we are currently working on to eventually add to the site. The projects in this section include:
This activity is an interactive flash applet where students can try to find stratigraphic layers, measure out their depths at set intervals, mark those measurements on their "paper" and try to accurately draw the stratigraphy.
This activity includes 2 different sites that were created by Elizabeth Scharf. We have recreated them digitally here with the idea of teaching students how stratigraphy is interpreted.
The Poverty Point stratigraphy exercise is similar to the hypothetical stratigraphy, except that it contains stratigraphic data from the Poverty Point site.
This is a fly by video of a 3d site model that was created using Autodesk Maya and topography data that was collected at the site.
